Junior IT Trainer

As a Junior IT Trainer at TLT you will learn how to design and deliver a range of courses to learners across the firm. 

 

The role is predominantly based in Bristol, but we also deliver to employees across the UK (Bristol, London, Manchester, Belfast, Glasgow and Edinburgh).  To make training as accessible as possible we use a combination of both face to face and webinar lead sessions.

 

The IT Training Team is part of TLT's wider Information Technology team.  We are responsible for the delivery of training of all of our IT systems to all employees and new starters within the Firm.  This could be by any means including classroom, webinar or eLearning.  We also write and manage a number of eLearning modules that are both IT and non-IT related. 

 

We are involved in all IT projects in an advisory capacity and to schedule and deploy the rollout of training for new applications. The wider IT team has around 40 employees who are responsible for the on-going support and improvement to IT's offering to the Firm.

Role Responsibility

Using your eye for detail and creative edge you will learn the art of creating outstanding training materials; learning how to record and edit quick hit videos, create eLearning modules, and writing simple but effective instructional guides for the projects you lead.

 

As you get involved in more projects you will work closely with our Business Analysts, Project Managers and Technical Leads to scope, plan and deliver training; engaging Subject Matter Experts from across the firm to ensure our training is credible, appropriate, and meet the needs of the business.

 

You will provide training on a mix of bespoke business systems (developed in-house at TLT) alongside familiar off-the-shelf packages, such as Microsoft Office. 

 

You will support the team with administrative tasks; managing the IT Training inbox, fielding queries from employees, keeping records up to date and running monthly reports from our learning management system.

 

During system implementations you will support learners via floor walking, Skype and email; fielding not only ad hoc queries, but also working with the IT Service Desk to publish helpful Tips, targeted at reducing Service Desk calls.

As a member of the IT training team you will also will assist with delivery of IT induction.

Your qualifications: 

 

•Experience of delivering teaching, training or coaching (however informal) is required.

•Experience of delivering IT Training in a formal classroom setting is desirable but not essential. 

•Formal training qualifications are desirable (in particular CIPD, TAP and MOS) but we encourage applications from anyone who can demonstrate relevant experience or qualifications (eg TEAFL, sport coaching, informal training in a work context).

 

Application skills and experience

 

You have a good understanding of Microsoft Office 2010 however experience of Microsoft Office 2013 or 2016 would be a distinct advantage.

 

Previous experience of eLearning authoring, particularly using Adobe Captivate, would be an advantage.

 

Additionally, knowledge of the following software would is desirable:

•SOS Connect / Practice Manager

•SolCase or similar case management software

•Interwoven/iManage or other document management system

•Interaction or other client relationship manager application

•BigHand Dictation or other digital dictation application

•QlikView or similar financial reporting application
