Legal Assistant - Energy

Job Introduction

Our Real Estate Group presently includes over 27 partners and more than 50 other lawyers, with a total compliment in excess of 180. The Energy, Financial Services and Public Sector Team are one of seven teams within the Real Estate Group.

Maria Connolly leads the team and heads the Real Estate group, she continues to be the energy behind our success in driving forward our strategy of developing the services we offer to clients in the renewables sector and tailoring those services to meet our clients' business objectives.

This opportunity is to join our clean energy term, where you will be contributing to an interesting and varied workload for our clients.

Through our national service lines you will work with notable clients and become a sector specialist. You will receive bespoke training throughout your career ensuring you have the technical and commercial skills to build an effective and successful practice.

Role Responsibility

Once you are in the role of Legal Assistant, you will deliver the following:

  • Undertaking due diligence on a variety of clean energy projects (including wind, solar and hydro) to include a review of title, enquiries, searches and producing legal reports for clients
  • Title due diligence and other transactional support for clean energy projects
  • Assisting with the real estate aspects of large clean energy financing transactions and disposals/acquisitions
  • Providing support in relation to other aspects of work undertaken in the team including landlord and tenant work, corporate support and public sector work
  • To provide all our clients with a quality service in accordance with the Firm’s procedures
  • To maintain and improve relations with existing clients and spot opportunities for business development and enhancement of the current services we offer
  • To achieve the budget and targets set by the Firm.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Commercial real estate and/or landlord and tenant experience is desirable
  • Good eye for detail
  • Ability to juggle a busy and varied workload
  • High standards of client service essential
  • Excellent communication skills - high volume of interaction via the telephone
  • Good IT skills
  • Enthusiastic & team approach to working
  • A desire to learn and develop legal skills in the area of commercial property, what TLT does and what our clients do/how they work
  • The role would suit an experienced legal assistant or legal executive
