Solicitor 3PQE+ - Planning
We're recruiting for a Planning Solicitor 3PQE+ to be based in our London office. You will be part of our growing Planning and Environment Team carrying out out a full range of planning services. As a Solicitor based in our London office you will have excellent networking ability as this role will have a strong focus on developing business.
In return we will invest in you. We want you to be successful. You will manage your own caseloads ensuring your experience is varied and broad. Through our national service lines you will work with notable clients and become a sector specialist. You will receive bespoke training throughout your career ensuring you have the technical and commercial skills to build an effective and successful practice.
Once you are in the role of Planning Solicitor you will deliver the following:
- Advise on a range of topics including; enforcement, listed buildings, compulsory purchase and compensation.
- Draft and negotiate agreements and other documentation.
- Prepare letters of objection, witness statements and statutory declarations.
- Attend inquiries and hearings including advocacy.
- Instruct Counsel and attendance at conferences.
- Business development, including cross selling and attending networking events.
The Ideal Candidate

- Technical excellence in planning law knowledge and 3PQE+ experience is essential.
Strong networking and business development ability.
Advocacy experience is desirable.
Preferably demonstrable experience in a key sector i.e. housing, renewables or leisure.
It is anticipated that the suitable candidate will come from either a large regional firm or London firm with dedicated planning practice and will have good commercial awareness particularly in respect of developer clients, although we may consider local authority candidates.
