Solicitor - Infrastructure, Construction Projects & Outsourcing

Job Introduction

Owing to the success and continuing client demand within our Projects, Infrastructure and Construction (PIC) Department, we are looking to recruit a Projects and Construction Lawyer.

This role reports into Patrick Sweeney, one of our Partners in PIC who provides strategic advice to the public sector, bidders and funders on complex infrastructure arrangements, joint ventures, novel regeneration projects and PFI/PPP projects.  Patrick works extensively on district heating projects advising on connection and supply arrangements for a range of clients).  He also  advises on a number of existing PFI contracts and other facilities management delivery models and solutions.

Role Responsibility

As a key member of the PIC Department, you will be responsible for:

  • Work for high calibre clients on complex contractual issues
  • Build relationships with new clients and existing clients of the firm
  • Develop your skills, knowledge and construction law expertise
  • Contribute to team strategic planning and business development activities
  • Contribute to the further development of the PIC team nationally

The Ideal Candidate

  • Between 2-4 years major projects or non-contentious construction experience
  • Strong academic background with experience from a national or recognised firm
  • Knowledge of major projects and/or construction transactions and standard contract forms including Model Services Contract, JCT and NEC
  • Highly motivated and innovative, with a positive attitude
  • Able to work with others and take direction
  • Able to communicate easily with clients, prospective clients and colleagues
  • Commercially aware and focused on client service/business development

Package Description
