Associate - Real Estate Scotland

Job Introduction

• The Glasgow team currently comprises six Partners, one Legal Director, one Associate, two Assistants and a Trainee.
• The team carries out a wide range of real estate work with particular emphasis on the following sectors: development and investment; landlord and tenant; leisure and retail; clean energy; banking and finance.

Role Responsibility

Working in the core Real Estate Group in Glasgow, responsibilities will include:
• Dealing with all aspects of Real Estate, and the property aspects of Real Estate Finance, transactions, acting for landlords, tenants (often national retailers), developers, banks, charities and a variety of other business clients.  The role will include all aspects of real estate due diligence, drafting and handling matters to completion.
• There will plenty of opportunity for client contact, running own files and early responsibility for delivery of transactions, etc.
• Providing support in relation to other aspects of work undertaken in the team including construction, asset management, banking and corporate transactions.
• To provide all our clients with a quality service in accordance with the Firm’s procedures.
• To maintain and improve relations with existing clients and spot opportunities for business development, cross-selling between different disciplines and other TLT offices and enhancement of the current services we offer. 
• To achieve the budget and targets set by the Firm.    

The Ideal Candidate

• A minimum of 3-5 years PQE where the individual is self-sufficient in most routine matters and quickly able to develop in areas where they are less experienced 
• Real Estate experience is essential and development experience would be an advantage.
• Good eye for detail.
• Ability to juggle a busy and varied workload, collaborating with multiple team members.
• High standards of client service essential.
• Excellent communication skills - high volume of interaction virtually and by telephone.
• Good IT skills.
• Enthusiastic & team approach to working.
• A desire to learn and develop legal skills in the area of commercial property, what TLT does and what our clients do/how they work.
