Senior Associate - Mortgage Litigation

Job Introduction

We are looking to recruit a senior lawyer who specialises in the mortgage litigation. The role is a supporting role to our standard litigation team with distinct responsibilities.

Role Responsibility

Technical Support

  • Overarching legal support to our standard repossession litigation team
  • Case Specific Support for team members on technical and strategic matters
  • Managing Sensitive / High Profile case
  • Identifying and implementing Legislative/ Process Changes.
  • Training & development for team
  • Identifying and managing legal risks within the team

The successful candidate will also act as the liaison between the standard and non standard litigation teams with responsibility for managing the file transfer/handback process between the teams.

We have a dedicated team of solicitors who attend Court so it is not expected that the successful candidate would have to deal with hearings.  However, the candidate will help to manage Court attendances and will be responsible for implementing feedback and audit. There will also be a requirement for occasional Court attendance to aid relationship building with the Master.


Client & Third Party relationships

The successful candidate will play a key role in helping to support and develop client relationships as well as third party relationships. This extends to support with the following:

  • Complaints and Quality Issues
  • Change management
  • Legal Updates
  • Client Onboarding
  • Client relationship meetings
  • Tenders

Operational Support

Supporting the Head of the Mortgage Litigation team in oversight activity to ensure that operationally we are maintaining a high quality service to clients and customer.
